A four barrel select of 100% seasoned (older) French oak barrels from my White Hawk Trentotto File block: black fruits, mineral notes, sage, cinnamon and white pepper is built to last for many years to come. Did I mention this is a very special, rare vintage!  
 
The freshly fermented Syrah was bled directly from the box fermenter into barrels. 100% free run. It was aged sur lees for 22 months.    
 
Bottled unfined and unfiltered

"The wine displays a brilliant, opaque purple color as well as awesome aromatics of sweet blackberry ganache, wet river rock, charred earth, pepper, saddle leather, and touches of baking spices.  Medium to full bodied on the palate, it's beautifully balanced with seamless, silky texture, solid concentration, and juicy acidity that carries the long finish.  Seemingly all about sweet fruit at the moment (and I followed the bottle for 3 days), I would drink this over the next 4-6 years."
