2005 Viognier Santa Barbara County

$5.00

2005 was a bigger crop than anyone imagined. It was normal by sight, the vines looking perfectly balanced, but when the fruit was weighed, we were all in for a surprise!

The second big surprise happened 10mins before racking the fermenting juice in the tank to barrel. The winery working beside me accidently dejuiced Pinot Noir from their fermenter into my Viognier tank, turning the juice pink.

I used 45% new Mercier French Oak barrels (due to big crop, and therefore the need for extra white barrels), both Center of France and Vosges wood. The middle of the wine was perfectly harmonized by these magnificent "finesse" barrels that support fruit first, and elevate the fruit's aromas. 278 cases bottled.

A value of: $25.00
